World in slow motion
The world around me,
Moves at the speed of light
No time for me,
A man on crutches
For whom the world inside
Moves in slow motion.
Every step a challenge
A mountain I see
Where you see a molehill.
Painstakingly slow,
Each step I take,
Efforts and thoughts
A billion,
To put one leg
Ahead of the other.
Your feet move
With a life of their own,
You know not
Where you are going
Or whence you came.
My world is smaller,
Tiny compared to yours,
You claim the earth as yours
I claim my six by three
Every grain of sand,
I place it there,
By choice, by will.
Your world is full of clods
That you threw,
Unseen, unknown.
You rush me by,
For my world too slow,
To keep pace with yours,
You are in a haze, a daze
To see the world in slow motion,
Every action overstated
Every thought amplified,
In this world in slow motion.

Does having a target mean, you do not bother with the things that are right here right now?
When you travel fast, you miss out on details.But slow motion reveals many details that is the beauty of slow motion.
Besides when you face obstacles like this you dont keep crying but start trying.
What is needed is grit and detemination
I appreciate the very well rendered description of life in these lines.... which are quite similar for a number of us!

I guess poetry is intrinsically to each his own.

Life is what we make of it. A close friend of mine says, "each day, a new year"
Wishing you a new day!
But Poetry cannot be an abstract totally. It must must give out a core message.
Out of the core message people can interpret in their own way as per their imagination.
But cant deviate from the core message
Poetry was never considered a modern art art any time.
Having a target means, that irrespective of what happens right here and right now, we need to attain that target. Some times, we are helped by such obstacles to go closer to such targets if you have closely observed.
