Facade of love?

Is this wrong,
This feeling we share?
The passion
I can see flowing
Through your lips
Through my lips,
From your body
To the core of mine.
Every moment
A drugged state
Ecstasy and pleasure.
Pain and torture.
Pleasure in the ecstasy
Pain in the torture
That I know this can't last,
This night will not live on.
Your family beckons,
Your wife,
So lovely in her cotton saris,
Knowing every want of yours,
Waiting to hear your steps
As they come from the street
On to the doorway
The one you share with her.
Does she smell me,
My perfume on your shirt
My scent on your skin
Does she hear my voice
In every word you say?
Does she run up you,
To be hoisted in the air
The way you hoist me
When you see me after a long time?
Do you hold her as close
As close as you hold me
Never letting me go,
Until it is time for you to go?
I will never as you
To let her go,
For she is the mother
Of a daughter you love
As much as you love me.
Does my understanding
Of my position in your life
Make me cheap
Do the gifts you give me
Make me paid?
Is the idea of love
That we share
That you share,
With your wife,
Just a lie,
A farce
A facade?

Love in itself is a farce, a lie, a diversion. So, can this be far away from it?

There are no lies, just hidden truths.
But, still I fail to comprehend how love, the quintessential human emotion, or so they say is a lie, a diversion?

love is not a lie. as long as the heart knows the truths, love lives.
isn't that enough?

I would not confuse the heart with knowing. I would maintain that knowing is the purview of the mind and the heart feels, for love an emotion is felt.
I am not denying that love is a true emotion, however, does love justify lust or does lust justify love?

@aditya:

i agree with the mind knowing and the heart feeling. love and lust are not complementary. either way, in its pure form, love survives

Love cannot be separated from lust, for love without lust, something I do not want to get into.
Lust without love, just a need to spread the genes..

Many a time love fails because, when you start moving closer you find the attributes on which you started loving the person missing. Then disappointments and comtempt and next hate starts taking over.

Love is a time based concept. At some point in time Love is strong and intense. Over a period it keeps changing. Some times vanishes and some times reaapears.

If the love has turned in a permanent bondages It clings on for some reason other than love by itself. May be social stigma or security and so on.

The post was a question mark on infidelity, not love. Please note that. I do understand that it being a poem opens it to your interpretation; however, the question being asked here is does love justify infidelity.

@Sindhuja
From your stance on love, I would guess that it does.

@ Rajaraman
I reiterate that I am not talking just about love. It is the love between a husband and his mistress that I am talking about.

Cheers

The love with Mistress started since the nlove with wife was not true. Same way the love with mistress will fade whwn it becomes routine nothing specialor exciting

From Rajaraman
Love being subject to time, non-impervious to passage of time...
Contradictory with the usual love is forever, eternal!
Whatever!

Rajaraman said...

The very fact that infidelity has crept in the love becomes materialistic. Materialistic love will never last and it is only a facade that love is ther for the short duration Once that is achieved mind longs for something more or better and the infidelity take over. Then the chain start.

I agree with Rajaraman. The concept of love is subjective. To, time for example. Love blinds us from being our normal self. That's why I said love is a lie. When we start pretending for the sake of a lie called love, it makes us liars. In this case the husband is pretending to himself and his current mistress that his love to her is eternal.

Love is an emotion, period. It is as true as when you feel it for your wife as when you feel it for your mistress. You cannot belittle one, without belittling the other. I understand that is what you are driving at, in a different manner.

Love as a strictly emotional concept can be accepted. But why would some one want to love unconditionally? Would people fall in love if that is going to hurt them throughout? It is the happiness behind that emotion that one is craving for. Obtaining such happiness by betraying some one else's emotion called love, is at best, selfishness. Being selfish is neither right nor wrong. And at this point of time, I can't make distinctions between selfish and selfless.

@ DI
The illusion of love, its emotion is to ensure that the parents of the offspring that springs from love are together enough to rear the child from birth, when it is at its most vulnerable state, until the child is capable of taking care of itself. Love, it is an instinct, and it has to be with physical lust for then only will it lead to offspring.
The unconditional love, is not selfless for selfishness is not personal, it is special, to mean for the species. For the growth of my species, I will love unconditionally. It is my unhappiness for the species
Unfortunately, people also are so lost in their own comfort, that they do not care what the other is doing. I will love no matter what, for my love is true!
Ultimately, selfless is self-more :P
